Clay County WIC: Women, Infants, and Children

Who is WIC for?

  • Infants and Children up to 5 years of age

  • Pregnant women

  • Breastfeeding women who have had a baby in the last 12 months

  • Non-breastfeeding women who have had a baby in the last 6 months

 

WIC provides FREE:

  • Nutritious foods

  • Breastfeeding support

  • Expert dietary counseling

  • Health care referrals and community resource information

  • Medical Supplements/formulas, if applicable

 

Am I eligible for WIC?

To be eligible, you or your child must:

  • Live in North Carolina

  • Live in a household with income at/below WIC guidelines or currently receive Medicaid/FNS/TANF benefits

  • Meet with a WIC nutritionist during your certification appointment to assess nutrition risk​​
